Master’s Thesis Defense Examining the Impact of Human Resource Management on the Performance of Yemeni Banks
The Arab Academy for Management, Banking, and Financial Sciences held the public defense of a Master’s thesis on Saturday, August 15, 2026, submitted by researcher Riyadh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Hubaishi as part of the Master’s Program in the Department of Business Administration. The thesis was entitled:
“The Impact of Human Resource Management Strategy on Improving the Performance of Yemeni Banks: A Field Study.”
The study examined the impact of human resource management strategies, including recruitment, compensation, training and development, and performance appraisal, on improving the performance of Yemeni banks.
The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach using a questionnaire distributed among employees in managerial and supervisory positions across eight Yemeni banks. The sample consisted of 288 participants, while 237 valid questionnaires were subjected to statistical analysis using SPSS.
The findings revealed a statistically significant positive impact of human resource management strategies on improving the performance of Yemeni banks, with varying effects across the different dimensions. Recruitment had the greatest impact, followed by compensation and performance appraisal, while training and development had the lowest impact among the dimensions examined.
The study also presented several recommendations, most notably strengthening attention to human resource management strategies and redesigning wage and incentive policies to ensure fairness and objectivity. It also recommended developing performance appraisal systems and establishing clear and transparent evaluation criteria.
At the conclusion of the defense, the Thesis Examination Committee announced its decision to accept the thesis and recommend awarding the researcher a Master’s degree in Business Administration, subject to incorporating the proposed amendments.
