Master’s Thesis Defense in Business Administration at the Arab Academy in Aden
On the morning of Saturday, October 3, 2026, the Arab Academy for Management, Banking, and Financial Sciences held a public defense session at its headquarters in Aden for the Master’s thesis in Business Administration, submitted in English by researcher Jihan Adam Abdulaziz Dada, entitled:
“Factors Influencing the Effectiveness of Monitoring and Evaluation Systems in International Non-Governmental Organizations in Aden.”
The researcher began the defense session with a comprehensive academic presentation of her thesis, addressing the research problem, significance, and objectives, the theoretical framework underpinning the study, and the scientific methodology used to collect and analyze data. She also presented the key findings and recommendations concerning the factors influencing the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation systems in international non-governmental organizations operating in Aden.
Following the presentation, the session featured an in-depth and constructive academic discussion between the researcher and the Thesis Examination Committee, covering the intellectual, methodological, and practical aspects of the study. The researcher demonstrated a strong understanding of her research topic, a clear command of scientific research methods, and the ability to discuss, interpret, and defend her findings, as well as respond effectively to the committee’s questions and observations.
The Thesis Examination Committee consisted of the following distinguished academics:
- Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi – Chair and Supervisor.
- Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Bin Huwayl – External Examiner and Committee Member.
- Dr. Abdullah Haider Shamsan – Internal Examiner and Committee Member.
The thesis addressed an important topic in management and institutional development by examining the factors influencing the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation systems in international non-governmental organizations in Aden. It also explored the role these systems play in monitoring performance, measuring results, supporting decision-making, and improving the efficiency of programs and projects.
The examination committee praised the academic quality of the thesis, its scientific treatment of the subject, and its analysis of field data. The committee emphasized the importance of the study’s findings and recommendations in strengthening the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation systems and supporting the efforts of international non-governmental organizations to improve institutional performance and enhance the efficiency of program and project implementation in Aden.
At the conclusion of the defense session, following deliberation, the committee approved the thesis and recommended awarding researcher Jihan Adam Abdulaziz Dada a Master’s degree in Business Administration, wishing her continued success in her academic and professional career.
