Master’s Thesis Defense at the Arab Academy on the Impact of Administrative Innovation on Crisis Management in Non-Governmental Organizations in Marib Governorate

A public defense session for the Master’s thesis submitted by researcher Abdulaziz Hussein Hassan Hussein was held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the headquarters of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking, and Financial Sciences, on the fourth floor, Hall No. (5). The thesis was submitted as part of the Master’s Program in the Department of Business Administration and was entitled:

“The Impact of Administrative Innovation on Crisis Management in Non-Governmental Organizations: A Field Study of Non-Governmental Organizations in Marib Governorate”

The study examined the impact of the six dimensions of administrative innovation—originality, fluency, flexibility, analysis, sensitivity to problems, and risk-taking—on crisis management in non-governmental organizations in Marib Governorate, amid an environment characterized by multiple humanitarian and funding crises and operational challenges.

The researcher adopted the descriptive-analytical approach, using a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 105 employees from various administrative levels within the organizations under study. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods.

The findings showed a statistically significant effect of administrative innovation on crisis management at the significance level of (α ≤ 0.05). The level of administrative innovation practices was also high, with a mean of 4.17. The dimension of originality ranked highest, with a mean of 4.33, followed by flexibility, with a mean of 4.26, while risk-taking ranked last, with a mean of 3.99.

The findings also showed that the level of crisis management was high, with a mean of 4.10, encompassing practices related to preparedness, detection, containment, recovery, and learning. The multiple regression model indicated that the dimensions of administrative innovation collectively explained 79.9% of the variance in crisis management, with risk-taking, originality, and analysis emerging as the dimensions with the greatest partial contributions.

The study also found no statistically significant differences in the responses of the sample members attributable to demographic variables, including gender, age, educational qualification, years of experience, and job level.

The study recommended promoting a culture of administrative innovation within non-governmental organizations, developing early warning systems, and training employees in analytical thinking under conditions of uncertainty. It also recommended adopting policies that encourage initiative and calculated risk-taking within clearly defined controls.

The Thesis Examination Committee consisted of:

  • Dr. Shawqi Abdulmajeed Abdu Al-Mekhlafi – Chair and Supervisor.
  • Dr. Fahd Ali Abdullah Al-Omaisi – External Examiner and Committee Member.
  • Dr. Omar Ahmed Ali Al-Shami – Internal Examiner and Committee Member.

The Thesis Examination Committee enriched the session with its academic observations and methodological contributions, commending the importance of the study topic, the researcher’s efforts, and the study’s contribution to knowledge in the fields of administrative innovation and crisis management.

At the conclusion of the session, the committee announced its acceptance of the thesis and recommended awarding researcher Abdulaziz Hussein Hassan Hussein a Master’s degree in Business Administration, subject to incorporating the proposed amendments. The committee wished him continued success and achievement in his academic and professional career.
