PhD Dissertation Defense on Transformational Leadership and Job Stress in Yemeni Universities
On the morning of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the Arab Academy for Management, Banking, and Financial Sciences in Aden held the public defense of a PhD dissertation in Business Administration submitted by researcher Abeer Mohammed Ahmed Al-Maqaleh, entitled:
“The Impact of Transformational Leadership on Job Stress: Organizational Justice as a Mediating Variable – A Field Study of Yemeni Universities.”
The dissertation examined the relationship between transformational leadership and job stress, while investigating the mediating role of organizational justice. The study aimed to contribute to understanding the organizational factors influencing the university work environment and to support administrative practices that promote organizational stability and performance.
The researcher delivered an academic presentation addressing the research problem, significance, and objectives, as well as the theoretical framework and scientific methodology employed in the study, along with its key findings and recommendations.
The defense session featured an academic discussion between the researcher and the examination committee, covering the intellectual, methodological, and practical aspects of the dissertation. The researcher discussed the findings and responded to the committee’s questions and comments.
The Thesis Examination Committee consisted of Professor Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Chair and Supervisor; Associate Professor Dr. Rana Salem Saleh, Member and External Examiner; and Associate Professor Dr. Tawfiq Mahdi Barahma, Member and Internal Examiner.
The committee commended the academic quality of the dissertation and its sound theoretical foundation and methodological analysis, emphasizing the significance of its topic in the fields of transformational leadership, organizational justice, and job stress. The committee also highlighted the potential contribution of its findings and recommendations to developing the work environment in Yemeni universities.
At the conclusion of the defense session, and following deliberation, the committee decided to accept the dissertation and recommend awarding the researcher a PhD in Business Administration, wishing her continued success in her academic and professional career.
