His Excellency Prof. Dr. Amin Noman Al-Qudsi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, met today at his office in Aden with Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS), to review the Academy’s key scientific and research initiatives and activities aimed at strengthening scientific research and advancing academic development.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed preparations for the launch of the second edition of the Arab Academy Award for Scientific Research in Economics, Finance, and Banking, which will be announced soon under the generous patronage of the Minister. The discussion highlighted the Award’s role as a leading academic platform that encourages high-quality research in the fields of economics, finance, and banking, while motivating researchers to produce studies that address development challenges and support evidence-based decision-making.

The meeting also reviewed the achievements of the Award’s first edition, which attracted strong participation from researchers and showcased a number of distinguished studies with significant academic and practical impact. These achievements have further strengthened the Award’s reputation as a promising scientific initiative at both the national and regional levels.

The two sides also discussed the Minister’s patronage of the Third Human Resources and Training Forum, which the Academy is preparing to host in Aden in the coming period. The forum aims to explore the latest trends and best practices in human capital development and institutional performance enhancement.

In addition, the Minister was briefed on the latest preparations for the First International Conference on Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Sustainable Development, organized by the Academy in partnership with the University of Aden and scheduled to be held next July. A comprehensive overview was presented on the progress of the scientific and organizing committees and the overall preparations for the conference.

Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Mohammed Al-Abbadi, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, also presented an update on the conference’s research participation, noting that 230 research papers had been submitted by 701 researchers representing 30 countries, reflecting the conference’s strong scientific momentum and growing international interest.

During the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research praised the vital role played by the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences, commending its efforts in organizing high-quality scientific events and leading initiatives that support scientific research. He reaffirmed his full support for the Academy’s mission and its contribution, as one of the institutions of joint Arab action, to the advancement of higher education and scientific research.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Mohammed Al-Abbadi, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the Academy; Mr. Ramzi Saeed Mohammed, Director General of the Minister’s Office; and Mr. Mohammed Hussein Abu Saba’a, Secretary-General of the Academy’s Yemen Branch.
