Under the patronage of His Excellency Prime Minister Salem Bin Buraik and the supervision of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education, and Vocational Training, the University of Aden, in partnership with the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS), officially launched the call for research paper submissions for the First International Conference on Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Sustainable Development (DTISD 2026).

The inauguration ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran and was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdulnasser Al-Wali, Minister of Civil Service, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Higher Education.

Representing the Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Mazen Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, conveyed the Minister’s greetings and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the conference and similar scientific initiatives that promote knowledge, encourage high-quality research, and contribute to advancing higher education and academic excellence.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Al-Khader Nasser Lasour, President of the University of Aden, expressed his pleasure at the official launch of the conference’s research paper submission phase. He highlighted the strategic partnership between the University of Aden and the Arab Academy, emphasizing the University's long-standing academic legacy and the significant contributions of its graduates across government institutions, the healthcare sector, universities, schools, research institutions, the public and private sectors, and Yemeni communities abroad. He noted that the University remains committed to keeping pace with emerging scientific developments, particularly in digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable development.

Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences, welcomed participants on behalf of the Academy and expressed his appreciation for the partnership with the University of Aden, one of the oldest and most distinguished universities in the Arab region.

He stated that the conference is more than a scientific event; it is a national and regional platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative dialogue aimed at shaping future perspectives on the digital economy and sustainable development. He further emphasized the Academy’s commitment to developing leadership capabilities in management, finance, and banking while preparing a new generation capable of leading digital transformation across public and private sector institutions.

Prof. Dr. Al-Nashmi also highlighted the Academy’s strong commitment to supporting scientific research, strengthening institutional collaboration, and building meaningful connections between academics, professionals, and decision-makers. He noted that the conference benefits from the technical sponsorship of IEEE, one of the world’s leading organizations in engineering, technology, and scientific research, which will enhance the international visibility of participating researchers and provide opportunities to connect their work with the global research community.

He added that the organizing, scientific, and technical committees are working diligently to deliver a comprehensive international conference that combines academic excellence with economic and developmental relevance while embracing international best practices. He concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to supporting the conference, particularly the University of Aden under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Al-Khader Nasser Lasour, and invited researchers from around the world to participate with high-quality research and innovative ideas that contribute to building a more advanced and sustainable future.

During the event, Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Mohammed Al-Abbadi, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Chair of the Scientific Committee, presented an overview of the conference's objectives, thematic tracks, submission requirements, and the scientific significance of the First International Conference on Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Sustainable Development.

The launch ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Khaled Omar Basaleem and Prof. Dr. Fadl Al-Rubaie, Deputy Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Dr. Abdullah Saleh Al-Haj, President of the Executive Body of Community Colleges; university presidents; deans; faculty members from the University of Aden and the Arab Academy; and a distinguished gathering of academics and guests.
