During His Meeting with the Director of the Academy’s Branch, the Minister Reaffirms the Role of Higher Education Institutions as Key Partners in Achieving Sustainable Development
His Excellency Prof. Dr. Amin Noman Al-Qudsi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS), at the Ministry’s headquarters in the temporary capital, Aden. The official visit was an opportunity to congratulate the Minister on his appointment as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and to extend greetings on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Al-Nashmi expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Minister, wishing him success in his national responsibilities and expressing confidence that his leadership would contribute to advancing higher education and strengthening universities and higher education institutions across the country. He reaffirmed the Academy’s pride in its institutional partnership with the Ministry and its commitment to complying with national policies and regulations while continuously enhancing its academic programs and improving the quality of educational outcomes. He also highlighted the Academy’s role in preparing qualified national professionals, expanding applied scientific research, and supporting national development initiatives.
The meeting also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the First International Conference on Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development (DTISD 2026), scheduled to be held next July. The conference is jointly organized by the Academy and the University of Aden, with technical sponsorship from IEEE. Prof. Dr. Al-Nashmi presented the conference’s strategic objectives, the progress achieved by the preparatory committees, and the implementation plans aimed at promoting digital innovation in scientific research and aligning research outcomes with national development priorities.
The Minister welcomed the visit and commended the Academy’s continuous efforts in higher education, capacity building, and the organization of distinguished scientific events. He emphasized that the Ministry’s vision is centered on strengthening effective partnerships with higher education and research institutions, enabling them to fulfill their role as key partners in achieving national development. He also stressed the importance of improving the quality of higher education, encouraging scientific research, and aligning academic programs with labor market needs and national priorities.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to continued communication and coordination to advance higher education and scientific research while strengthening the contribution of academic institutions to community service and sustainable national development.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ramzi Saeed Mohammed, Director General of the Minister’s Office; Mr. Ali Salem Al-Anqa, Advisor to the Minister; and Mr. Mohammed Hussein Abu Saba’a, Secretary-General of the Academy’s Yemen Branch.
