The Supervisory Committee of the Arab Academy Scientific Research Award Holds Its Second Meeting in the Presence of the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank and the Deputy Minister for Scientific Research at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
The second meeting of the Supervisory Committee of the Arab Academy Scientific Research Award (First Edition – 2024) was held on Tuesday, 3 December 2024, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Omar Banajah, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Salam Al-Tuwaiji, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy; along with a number of university professors and experts.
The Committee discussed the agenda items, including the report of the Scientific Committee. Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Saqqaf, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, presented a report outlining the evaluation process and the selection of reviewers in accordance with the procedures specified in the Award Guidelines. Reviewers were selected based on competence and impartiality to ensure the highest standards of transparency and credibility in evaluating the submitted research papers.
The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen the Award's role in supporting scientific research and innovation, and in recognizing research projects that provide practical solutions to development challenges. Participants emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between academic institutions and the business sector to promote the knowledge economy and support research excellence.
The Committee concluded its meeting by approving a number of decisions related to the agenda items.
It is worth noting that the 2024 edition of the Award is exclusively funded by the Cooperative and Agricultural Credit Bank (CAC Bank).
