The Arab Academy and the National Bank of Yemen Strengthen Their Partnership Through an Expanded Meeting Following a Series of Productive Discussions
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration between the higher education sector and the banking industry, an expanded meeting was held between Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS), and Dr. Ahmed Bin Sankar, General Manager of the National Bank of Yemen. The meeting aimed to review the outcomes of previous discussions and build upon the positive progress achieved through the partnership.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed the progress of the training and professional development programs implemented jointly by the Academy and the Bank. These included specialized programs in banking leadership development, compliance and anti-money laundering (AML), as well as professional development pathways designed to enhance the administrative and technical capabilities of the Bank's employees.
The discussions also explored new opportunities to expand cooperation in ways that strengthen national competencies and equip professionals with the knowledge and skills required to meet modern banking standards.
Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi reaffirmed the Academy's commitment to leveraging its academic and training capabilities in support of the Bank's strategic objectives. Dr. Ahmed Bin Sankar, General Manager of the National Bank of Yemen, expressed his appreciation for the Academy's significant role in developing banking professionals and commended the positive impact that the partnership has had on enhancing institutional performance within the Bank.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain regular follow-up on joint initiatives and to establish priorities for the next phase of cooperation, ensuring the sustainability of the partnership and its continued contribution to the development of Yemen's banking sector.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Mohammed Al-Abbadi, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, representing the Academy, and Mr. Mohsen Saeed Haidarah, Deputy General Manager for Banking Affairs, representing the National Bank of Yemen.
