The Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS) participated in the Introductory Workshop on National Programmatic Academic Accreditation, Periodic Evaluation, and Licensing for Higher Education Institutions, organized by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, and under the supervision of the President of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council. The workshop brought together presidents of public and private universities, college deans, and directors of academic development and quality assurance centers.

The Academy was represented by a delegation led by Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Yemen Branch, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Mohammed Al-Abbadi, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Dr. Jamal Al-Saadi, Head of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Unit. Their participation reflects the Academy's ongoing commitment to keeping pace with the latest developments in quality assurance and academic accreditation.

The two-day workshop aimed to promote the adoption and implementation of national standards for institutional licensing and academic accreditation while strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions to address academic and administrative challenges through periodic evaluation and continuous quality improvement.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Khaled Omar Basaleem, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, emphasized the importance of the workshop and highlighted the Ministry's commitment to prioritizing programmatic accreditation during the coming phase as a key step toward improving the quality of higher education.

Prof. Dr. Sawsan Mohammed Abdullah Bakhabirah, President of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education, explained that the workshop forms part of the Council's ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional and programmatic quality systems within higher education institutions and to align them with the evolving needs of local, regional, and international labor markets.

The workshop featured a series of technical and awareness sessions covering quality assurance concepts, accreditation and evaluation mechanisms, international best practices, and the requirements for designing and developing academic programs in accordance with the Council's accreditation standards.
