The Arab Academy Participates in the Launch of Global Money Week Activities in Aden
Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, Prime Minister of Yemen, and under the direct supervision of H.E. Ahmed Ahmed Ghaleb, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, the city of Aden hosted the official launch of Global Money Week 2025 on Sunday, 16 March 2025. The event, which runs through 22 March, featured the active participation of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS) alongside leading financial and banking institutions, with the aim of promoting financial literacy and advancing financial inclusion.
The opening ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a keynote address by Dr. Mohammed Omar Banajah, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, who emphasized that Global Money Week provides an important opportunity to raise awareness of sound financial planning and strengthen financial literacy across all segments of society.
Representing the Arab Academy, Dr. Mohammed Abu Nar delivered a virtual address from Cairo, highlighting the role of financial institutions in promoting financial awareness in the era of digital transformation.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Academy's Yemen Branch, stated:
"The Arab Academy's participation in Global Money Week reflects our commitment to promoting financial literacy and strengthening banking awareness among young people. We firmly believe that financial knowledge is a fundamental tool for empowering individuals to make informed financial decisions that improve their quality of life and contribute to sustainable economic development. The Academy remains committed to offering educational and awareness programs that keep pace with developments in the financial sector while collaborating with local and international financial institutions to advance the concept of financial inclusion within society."
The ceremony also featured several keynote speeches, a presentation reviewing the outcomes of Global Money Week 2024, a documentary introducing the 2025 Global Money Week campaign, and awareness videos addressing money laundering, fraud, and cybercrime.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, the Deputy Governor of Aden Governorate, the Director of the Academy's Yemen Branch, senior government officials, presidents and representatives of local banks, the Secretary General of the Academy's Yemen Branch, the Director of the Academy's Training Institute, and a distinguished group of financial and economic leaders.
