Master’s Thesis Defense on Cybersecurity Awareness and Compliance with Security Policies at the Arab Academy in Aden

On the morning of Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Arab Academy for Management, Banking, and Financial Sciences – Aden held a public defense session at its headquarters for a Master’s thesis in the Computer Information Systems Program, submitted by researcher Waddah Qasim Qasim Al-Daari, entitled:

“The Impact of Cybersecurity Awareness on Compliance with Security Policies in Security Institutions: A Field Study of the National Security Leadership in Aden.”

The Thesis Examination Committee consisted of the following academics:

• Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Abbadi – Supervisor and Chair.
• Dr. Jamal Mohammed Yaslam Bafaqas – External Examiner and Committee Member.
• Dr. Jalal Ahmed Salem Marzouqi – Internal Examiner and Committee Member.

The researcher began the session with an academic presentation of his thesis, outlining the research problem, objectives, theoretical framework, and methodology used to collect and analyze data. He also presented the findings and recommendations concerning the role of cybersecurity awareness in strengthening compliance with security policies within the institutions under study.

Following the presentation, the committee and the researcher engaged in an objective academic discussion covering various methodological and practical aspects of the research. The committee heard the researcher’s explanations and his defense of the findings reached through the field study.

The Thesis Examination Committee praised the academic quality of the thesis, its scientific examination of the subject, and its analysis of field data. The committee emphasized the importance of the findings and recommendations in strengthening cybersecurity awareness and supporting the efforts of security institutions and the National Security Leadership in protecting their systems and effectively implementing their security policies.

At the conclusion of the session, the committee announced its acceptance of the thesis and recommended awarding the researcher a Master’s degree in Information Systems, wishing him continued success in his academic and professional career.
