Master’s Thesis Defense on Quality of Work Life and Administrative Excellence
The Arab Academy for Management, Banking, and Financial Sciences held the public defense of a Master’s thesis submitted by researcher Ali Abduh Qaid Othman as part of the Master’s Program in the Department of Business Administration. The thesis was entitled:
“Quality of Work Life and Its Impact on Achieving Administrative Excellence: A Case Study of the University of Science and Technology – Marib Branch.”
The study aimed to determine the impact of quality of work life, across its dimensions of compensation, incentives, job security, promotion systems, and workplace justice, on achieving administrative excellence at the University of Science and Technology – Marib Branch.
The researcher adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and used a questionnaire to collect data from university employees. The study population consisted of 110 male and female employees, of whom 83 completed questionnaires were subjected to statistical analysis, representing a response rate of 75.4%, using the SPSS software.
The study findings revealed a statistically significant positive impact of the dimensions of quality of work life on achieving administrative excellence, with a strong correlation between the two variables of 0.81. Quality of work life accounted for approximately 66% of the variance in administrative excellence.
The findings also showed that the overall level of quality of work life was high, with a mean score of 3.43, while the mean score for administrative excellence was 3.89. The workplace justice dimension ranked first in terms of impact, while incentives and compensation received lower ratings compared with the other dimensions.
The study concluded with a number of recommendations, most notably increasing attention to the professional and material well-being of human resources and providing a safe and motivating work environment, thereby contributing to improving operational efficiency, enhancing the quality of outputs, and achieving administrative excellence.
At the conclusion of the session, the Thesis Examination Committee announced its decision to accept the thesis and recommend awarding the researcher a Master’s degree in Business Administration, subject to incorporating the minor amendments proposed by the committee. The committee commended the significance of the study and its academic contribution to the fields of management and institutional excellence.
