PhD Dissertation Defense on Control, Financial Risk Management and Organizational Agility in Yemeni Banks

The Arab Academy for Administrative, Financial and Banking Sciences – Aden held a public defense session on Monday morning, June 8, 2026, for the PhD dissertation in Business Administration submitted by researcher Abdullah Mabhout Ahmed Abu Nasran, titled: “The Impact of Control on Financial Risk Management Through Organizational Agility: A Field Study of Yemeni Banks.”

The dissertation examined the relationship between control and financial risk management in Yemeni banks, focusing on the mediating role of organizational agility in enhancing banks’ ability to respond to challenges and rapidly changing conditions in the banking environment.

The researcher began the defense by presenting an overview of the study problem, significance, objectives, theoretical framework, and methodology, in addition to the key findings and recommendations concerning the enhancement of financial risk management through strengthening the role of control and developing organizational agility.

The session featured an in-depth academic discussion between the researcher and the members of the Thesis Examination Committee, covering various theoretical and practical aspects of the dissertation. The researcher demonstrated a strong command of the subject matter and research tools, as well as the ability to discuss the findings and respond to the committee’s questions.

The Thesis Examination Committee praised the academic quality of the dissertation and its analysis and treatment of field data, noting that the study represents a valuable academic contribution to banking management and risk management, particularly through its findings and recommendations that can support institutional performance and strengthen risk management in Yemeni banks.

At the conclusion of the defense session, and following deliberation, the committee approved the dissertation and recommended awarding researcher Abdullah Mabhout Ahmed Abu Nasran a PhD in Business Administration, wishing him continued success in his academic and professional career.
