PhD Dissertation Defense on Strategic Leadership and Strategic Superiority in Yemeni Banks

The Arab Academy for Management, Banking, and Financial Sciences – Aden held a public defense session on Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026, for the PhD dissertation in Business Administration submitted by researcher Ahmed Mohammed Saif Al-Qubati, titled: “The Impact of Strategic Leadership on Strategic Superiority Through Knowledge Management: A Field Study of Yemeni Banks.”

The dissertation examined the relationship between strategic leadership and strategic superiority, focusing on the mediating role of knowledge management in strengthening competitive capabilities and achieving institutional excellence in Yemeni banks amid a rapidly changing and dynamic business environment.

The researcher began the defense by presenting a scientific overview of the study problem, significance, objectives, theoretical framework, and methodology used to collect and analyze data, in addition to the key findings and recommendations concerning the role of strategic leadership in achieving strategic superiority through knowledge management practices.

The session featured an academic discussion covering the intellectual, methodological, and practical aspects of the dissertation. The researcher discussed the findings and responded to the questions and observations raised by the Thesis Examination Committee.

The committee praised the academic quality of the dissertation, its theoretical grounding, and analysis of field data, highlighting the significance of its topic in the areas of strategic leadership, knowledge management, and strategic superiority, as well as the potential value of its findings and recommendations in developing the strategic performance of Yemeni banking institutions.

At the conclusion of the defense session, and following deliberation, the committee approved the dissertation and recommended awarding researcher Ahmed Mohammed Saif Al-Qubati a PhD in Business Administration, wishing him continued success in his academic and professional career.
