**The Arab Academy Actively Participates in the Academic Accreditation Council’s Consultative Meeting**
The Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS) participated in the expanded consultative meeting organized by the Academic Accreditation Council and Higher Education Quality Assurance on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The event brought together directors of Academic Development and Quality Assurance Centers from public and private universities across the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, and Al Dhale. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaborative efforts to advance the higher education system, enhance institutional effectiveness, and improve the quality of educational outcomes.
Representing the Academy were Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Al-Abbadi, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Mr. Mahdi Amin, Head of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Unit. They delivered valuable contributions highlighting the Academy’s experience in implementing quality assurance standards and its continuous efforts to develop academic programs and improve learning outcomes.
The meeting featured extensive discussions on strengthening the strategic role of quality assurance centers within universities, reviewing key achievements accomplished during the previous period, and addressing the challenges associated with implementing quality standards. Participants also explored practical solutions to enhance institutional performance and promote excellence in higher education.
The Academy’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Academic Accreditation Council and higher education institutions while fostering the exchange of expertise to promote a culture of quality and institutional excellence.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sawsan Bakhabirah, Chairperson of the Council, commended the participants for their active engagement and constructive contributions, describing them as a strong indicator of the growing institutional awareness of the importance of quality assurance and academic accreditation as key drivers for the development of higher education and the enhancement of its outcomes. She also emphasized the importance of continuing regular consultative meetings between the Council and university quality centers to support the continuous improvement of academic programs in line with modern developments and to strengthen cooperation among higher education institutions.
